Biography

Born in 1949 in Djoliba, Mali, Salif Kéïta comes from a noble lineage tracing back to Soundiata Kéïta, founder of the Mali Empire. Living with albinism, he faced social challenges from an early age.

Defying expectations, he chose to pursue music and joined the Rail Band of Bamako in the 1970s, launching a remarkable international career.
